My Sonnet :)

The media robs children of their youth
Telling children that beauty is outer
Just look at us kids, we’re living proof
What I say is true, don’t be a doubter
The beauty industry has gone too far
This generation is false, masked, and sick
We need to get our ethics up to par
When we learn true beauty comes from within
Once we stop listening to lies we’re fed
We will be happier, us and our kin
If we could just get this out of our heads
This is a battle I know we can win
Taking action easier than it seems
‘Tis as easy as easy as turning off a T.V. screen

Myballad

We will finally love ourselves
Because of who we are
We will know ourselves inside out
Because beauty is heart

The beauty industry kills us
Part of us dies inside
These pictures far from truthfulness
When we hear all these lies

When we can’t look ourselves straight on
When we deplore mirrors
Uncomfortable with ourselves
All these acquired fears

Making us unreal and untrue
We become false and masked
Beauty measured by heart
Is our new on hand task

More difficult to love ourselves
More pressure than ever
Bombarded with false images
Shown light as a feather

Giving disorders to young girls
Making us feel worthless
Changing ourselves for no reason
Our elders are speechless

Why can we not show true beauty
Why must beauty of heart
Be demeaned and shown as worthless
We now must do our part

Our outlook on beauty is flawed
This generation sick
For true beauty comes from within
Within is what I pick

The world must rise to the challenge
To change the way we see
A world of only blind lovers
From sea to shining sea

When the media stops this trend
Of photo-shopped pictures
We will know then what beauty is
When we stop this stricture

We will finally love ourselves
Because of who we are
We will know ourselves inside out
Because beauty is heart

my failed ballad before I realized I did it wrong :P

The way you look at me
Sunlight falling upon your face
Makes me melt at the sight
When I long for that sweet embrace

Looking at me with hope
Your shiny eyes staring brightly
Awkward moments we share
Your arms embracing me tightly

Making me feel speechless
In every possible way
Being amazed by you always
Together forever we sway

Loving you forever
The two of us being just friends
Missing you profusely
Will finally forever end

innerbeauty

Inner Beauty

We live in a world where beauty is perceived as being thin and looking “perfect”. That is not in any way correct. In this world beauty is everything, people die trying to look as perfect as they can be. But let me tell you this; nobody in the world is perfect. Our flaws and imperfections are what make us human.  Having an attractive outer appearance does not make you beautiful; beauty comes from within. Beauty cannot be seen from the outside, but only felt from within. “That which is striking and beautiful is not always good, but that which is good is always beautiful.-- Ninon de L'Enclos” That is my favourite quote, and it shows that nothing is ever what it seems. You have to look deeper and deeper to see the beauty of the heart. It has been said that if someone calls you hot they are looking at your body, if someone calls you pretty they are looking at your face, and if they call you beautiful they are looking at your soul; I agree as this is the the only way to see true beauty. What is beautiful to me may not be beautiful to you, and vice versa. If we open our hearts we might be able to see the beauty in everything around us. To see a beautiful heart or perhaps even a beautiful personality; all we must do is look.  We as a nation decided that beauty was only skin deep, but where are the people that can see beauty in everything? The people that hate no person, that believe everything has beauty, the ones that can say that they honestly believe in love and beauty as opposed to hate and inner ugliness. Well we are here. Hoping for a generation of these people that see only beauty. “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” – Confucius

Inner.and.outer.beauty

Since when has the world become this way? Where outer appearance reigning over inner beauty has become the norm. People have gone to extremes to look beautiful. Wrecking their hair with chemicals and heat, using makeup that is harsh to the skin, going on crazy diets, and tanning themselves to the point of having melanoma. All for beauty, though this beauty is not beautiful; it is all a mask. When you look at it in that perspective doesn’t it make you rethink? Now another question; Why do you feel that the world has become this way? In my opinion it is because some of the worlds more beautiful people decided they wanted to take beauty to a new level, and create the beauty industry leading to girls growing up believing that what they saw on television and in magazines was true beauty. But I tell you this, no matter what we grew up believing, true beauty comes from within. Beauty is from the heart, not the skin. It is these people with ugly hearts that make people with beautiful hearts feel bad about themselves in physical and emotional ways. With these people hating on us, we resort to changing ourselves when we are already beautiful. Why would you fix something that isn’t broken? I don’t think you would, so then why bother changing yourself when you don’t need to be changed? All to be beautiful right? Morals, ethics, being empathetic, passionate, and kind are much better things to strive to be don’t you think? Outer beauty only has so much impact in this world, whereas a beautiful personality has the chance to change a life. Beautiful people are on the television, in magazines, and being models, being in the hair and makeup chair for hours previous, and being shortstopped and airbrushed. That all seems pretty fake if you ask me. People with beautiful outward appearances may have ugly insides, and vice versa, beautiful insides with not so pleasant outsides, so what should the outside matter? Why judge on beauty when inner beauty means so much more? Face the facts, in thirty years, no one will care who was the prettiest, most attractive person, they will remember the ones with big hearts, and the ones that believed in love, and not hate. You have a beautiful heart, embrace it, and don’t ever let it turn to waste.

Narrative Parragraph. :)

Jane takes just one swift step from the silent, forgiving outdoors into the cold cruel world of high school. Dreading another day being in this place, Jane pauses and takes a deep breath, calming herself. After taking a momentary look down the hallway, she decides to move, to get the six hours of self-esteem destruction over and done with. One step, then another and another, leading the way down the crowded hallway. Looking forward and avoiding eye contact, Jane can still see the other student’s eyes on her; she feels them pierce through her. Walking still, Jane thinks to herself ‘Why can I not just live my life?’ when suddenly, the expected happens. People snickering, and taunting Jane, making fun of her, and talking behind her back. Jane does her best to choke back the tears, to avoid being ridiculed more. Finally exiting the entrance to the school, she opens the door with a sigh of relief. Taking a deep breath again, she cringes at the thought that she must endure the same abuse in the same cruel hallway again tomorrow.

After the Love (poem)

I miss you now, I miss the times we had
The way its not the same it makes me sad
I miss the way said my name
And the times you healed my pain
I miss not having someone as special as you
To see me on days with tough times, to help me through
I miss the glimmer in your eyes
The shine that helped me go on
The sparkle that made me stay strong
Now though, I no longer miss you as much
I no longer miss your touch
I loved you then, I love you still, always have, always will, but now I can move on from missing you.
You hurt me once, never again
For the sake of you and me, I hope we can still stay friends.

Wishing on all the same stars (poem)

Every night, I wish upon one hundred stars in hopes that one day, we will be united.
You know I love you, I was never any good at hiding it.
But the day you found out, I couldn’t show it.
You knew, and there was no way back out, I just wish it were me.
That told you that I wished you and I were a we.
Alas, it was a friend, a good ,good friend.
Good intentions were formed to unite us, and never meant to break us apart.
I loved you then, I love you now, and forever more.
No matter what happens between the two of us, I need you here with me.
I will never just let us be.
We will stay strong through the tough times to make it to the best.
Every night, I still wish upon the same hundred stars, that even though we are now together, that you will be finally comprehend the amount that I love you.
I need you here with me, forever and always, we shall be united.
The stars I used to wish upon have grown tired of me as this is two years in the making, so I will need to resort to new stars, although, I am lucky that there is a million stars; one for every reason I love you, so I will never run out   ♥

BeautyIndustryPressure

This is a rhetorical question, but why is everybody putting so much pressure on girls to look beautiful and flawless these days? Its hard enough to be a girl anyways, why make it harder? All you end up with is depressed, suicidal, and eating disorder ridden females. It is horrible, and you may assume that it only affects certain people, but it really doesn’t. It affects all races, ages, from little girls to old ladies, it is so sad. We see this pressure working everyday. On the computer, on the television, on busses, in our real life, we are told that to succeed in this world, we have to look magnificent, and that we have to be beautiful, thin, have nice hair, nice teeth, ect. I am not going to say that looks don’t matter, but there are things that matter more, such as personality, heart, caring. If you look at all those things, don’t you think that outer beauty kinda pales in comparison? It does in my mind, and should in yours. I mean, look at your life, look at yourself. Hasn’t the beauty industry gone way to far to make us girls feel uncomfortable in our own skin just to get us to cave in and use all their unnecessary products. Think about the ads you see throughout the day. Look at those products, all making us think we need them, making us feel to big getting us to buy diet pills that hurt our health, make us buy all these concealers and foundations to cover what we really look like. All we are doing is putting on a mask. Would you rather feel totally comfortable in your own skin and spend five minutes in front of the mirror, or feel vulnerable and uneasy, and rely on pounds of makeup to make you feel confident? Personally, I choose the first. Which also takes some adjustments, as people are not always kind about it, but a little makeup is all you really need. Why cover your natural beauty to look plastic? The beauty industry tries its hardest to make us feel bad to buy their products, leaving us empty-handed, and hating our appearance. Conning innocent and naturally beautiful people into buying diet pills that harm our health, and makeup that will make our skin worse, all that beauty does is hurt. Why sacrifice all that, if we don’t have to? Just to be beautiful, right? Why? What’s the point. We only live once, why not just have fun. It saddens me to know that there are people out there that succumb to the pressure, because they have such low self esteem. Just give yourself a break, YOU ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL!!
